Donna Frost is an exceptionally gifted and versatile artist with a drive-it home edge to her voice, an uncanny ear for harmony and proficiency on guitar, bass, and keyboards as well as a songwriter, Donna owns the stage from the first note to the last with a professional, high-energy presentation. Donna grew up in a musical family. Her grandparents and parents performed in well known gospel groups. Her father Don and her uncles perform today in the acclaimed Frost Brothers Quartet. Her uncle John is a member of the Grand Ole Opry's Four Guys. Another uncle, Felton Jarvis, was Elvis Presley's record producer. Donna began performing on her own as a teenager and hasn't stopped since, currently appearing regularly in well known Nashville venues. She also performs across the United States, the Caribbean, and just did her first tour of the UK in November 2000. Some of the honors she has received include Female Vocalist of the Year by Anthem Magazine, Most Requested Band by Pioneer 88 Radio and her all female band The Paper Dolls were listed as the Best All Female Band in the Mid South by Rolling Stone Magazine's Rock and Roll Almanac. Donna has appeared with such established rock/pop acts as 10,000 Maniacs, BJ Thomas, Pat DiNizio of the Smithereens and country notables Skeeter Davis, Bobby Bare, Exile, Earl Thomas Conley and Mark O'Connor.
Donna is just as at home on stage performing solo on her acoustic guitar, as she is with her band, always entertaining! Donna released her first CD in 1998, entitled 'Pure and Simple" on Sims Records. As of December, 2000, the CD has received and continues to receive airplay on Americana stations across US and also in Australia, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, England, and other countries and continues to sell here in the US. "My Baby Loves to Treat Me Right" from Pure and Simple has been #1 on some independent country charts in the UK in the year 2000. She is recording her follow-up CD 'Feels Like Home" for release in early 2001. She has made a number of appearances on the Grand Ole Opry with Skeeter Davis and is a regular featured artist on the popular WSM's Opry Star Spotlight radio program. Donna has appeared on television shows such as Music City Showcase, Showcase Showdown and Charlie Daniels Talent Round-Up. When not performing live, Donna works as a staff writer, demo singer, & back-up vocalist in Nashville studios as well as in motion pictures and music videos. A high-energy entertainer, Donna is carrying on her family tradition to its fullest potential. Music is her life and she lives it every day.
